National Insurance Number Application

Use this form to apply for a UK National Insurance number. If you already have a National Insurance Number you can recover your number by using a replacement application. Your National Insurance Number is a number given to you by the UK government to keep track of your tax record and benefit entitlements.

If you are a non-UK resident, you will need a National Insurance Number to work, even if you are studying. Employers need the number to make tax deductions to your wages. You won’t be able to gain employment without a National Insurance Number. For more information about this service please visit our about page.
